Hello Belle Valley Families,
Welcome to a new and exciting school year at Belle Valley District 119! I am truly grateful to be part of such a wonderful district, surrounded by outstanding educators and dedicated support staff.
This year will be extra special as we CELEBRATE the 150th anniversary of Belle Valley! Before diving into the exciting plans ahead, I’d like to share a little about myselfand my family. I earned my Bachelor's and Specialist's degrees from Eastern Illinois University, my Master's degree from Rockford University, and a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate to serve in several leadership roles including superintendent, principal, assistant principal, and curriculum director. At home, I’m the proud mom of three wonderful children, Ryan, Lauren, and Aaron. Ryan and Lauren have both graduated from college and are pursuing careers in their chosen fields. Ryan is also engaged to a wonderful woman named Victoria, and they are planning an April wedding. Aaron is currently in his final year of college. Our family also includes two sweet dogs, Kobe and Jorgi, who enjoy posing for pictures and playing in the yard. As I mentioned earlier, this is a milestone year for Belle Valley! We are thrilled to celebrate 150 years of excellence with a community-wide Open House on Saturday, October 4th from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM. Retired staff, community members, and our current faculty and staff are working together to create an event that honors our long history of achievement in academics, the arts, music, athletics, and Belle Valley pride. To mark this special occasion, our school-wide theme this year is “CELEBRATE!” As we celebrate our rich history, make lasting memories in our present, and look ahead to an exciting future, it is important to remember the Belle Valley Mission: WE AIM HIGH to Achieve Important Milestones through academic excellence, integrity and kindness, and mindful growth. I look forward to a wonderful year! |
