Mrs. Eells needs your support in order to make this dream become a reality and also support the Siteman Cancer Research Center. Donations will be taken until next Wednesday.

The 8th grade boys’ basketball team took on an undefeated Emge team last night in the semifinals of the conference tournament last night. The team got off to a good start with intense press defense which helped them take a lead into the second half. It was a physical game and many fouls were called on the Bombers in second half. The fourth quarter was back and forth, and it came down to a missed last second shot. The Bombers lost by one point. The Bombers play for third place in the conference tournament tonight at 5:00 at central. Bus is at 4.

6th grade boys’ basketball team played for the championship last night against Whiteside.  They showed excellent teamwork and played extremely hard.  The coaches are very proud of the sportsmanship that was displayed.  These boys truly made Belle Valley look good.  Unfortunately, Whiteside won the game by one point.  The boys brought home a 2nd place trophy for the tournament.  Way to go Bombers!

The 8th grade Lady Bombers played a hard fought game last night beating Central Jr. High 24-18 in overtime. The score was tied for most of the game but the Bombers wanted the win and pulled off the victory. Scoring for the Bombers were Nyla W. with 9 points, Amya J. with 7 points, Raniya W. with 6 points, and Serenity C. with 2 points. Great game girls, and congratulations on a win to finish the conference!

5th & 6th grade Girls Group will NOT meet today. We will meet tomorrow, on Thursday!

The 8 grade boys’ basketball started their conference tournament last  night against Joseph Arthur. It was a sloppy first half as the Bombers rushed their play. They went into the half down by one. It was a close game the whole second half. In the final 4 minutes the Bomber Press kicked in and wore down J. Arthur. In a matter of two minutes the Bombers were up ten points and they never looked back. Jacori A. and Jordan L. led the team with 18 points each. The Bombers play again tonight at 7 pm at Central Junior High.

The 8th grade Lady Bombers played in their conference tournament last night against Shiloh Middle school. Scoring for the Bombers were Amya J, Nyla W, Tajoya D, and Raniya W. We play again tonight at 6:30 at Abe Lincoln wearing Be there at 6 in your red uniform!

The 6th grade boys’ basketball team won their game last night against Wolf Branch and play for the championship tonight against Whiteside at Emge at 6.  Boys should be there by 5:00 in their red uniform. Let’s go Bombers!

Week one of the Penny Wars is now complete.  5th grade is in first place, 7th grade is in second place, 8th grade is in third place, and 6th grade is in last place.  It is a close race between each place right now!  Keep bringing in those dollars and pennies to donate to your grade level so you can win and keep bringing in your quarters, nickels, and dimes to donate for the other grade levels so one of them gets to have a pie in their face!  So far we have raised $110.36 for Siteman, we have two more weeks to raise our donations to help fight cancer!!

Friday night, the 7th grade Lady Bombers played their last game of the season against Wolf Branch in their end of season tournament.  Our ladies came out strong and were able to take the lead early on in the game.  After half-time, Wolf Branch was just a little bit quicker giving them the upper hand.  In the end we couldn't bring home the win.  The final score was 20-26.  Although we weren't able to advance in the tournament, Coach Clark and Coach Belt are very proud of the team you have become this season.  Great season ladies!!

BOMB-BOTS, ASSEMBLE! On Saturday, the Belle Valley Bomb-Bots robotics team competed at Whiteside Middle School against 30 other teams from Southern Illinois. Matt W, Rob W, Cambria T, Gavin S, Garrett S, Peter L, Tommy D, Jillian Bt, Kegan B, Programming Captain Braylon H, Engineering Captain Linkin R, and Project Captain Carter L, all worked extremely hard over the last month during their lunches, after school, on Saturday mornings, and multiple days over Thanksgiving break.  All of their hard work showed at the competition on Saturday as the team demonstrated core values, presented their project to help the homeless, and problem solved to increase their score on the robotics table. Coach Strausbaugh is extremely proud of them and could not ask for a better team. Even though the Bomb-Bots did not qualify for the State Tournament, they gained experience, learned a lot, had fun, and will be even better prepared for next season! One… Two.. Three… BOMB-BOTS! BOMB-BOTS, ROLL OUT!

Cheerleaders, tonight you have night practice from 6-8. See you there!

First Scholar Bowl Practice is today after school until 4:00.

Mrs. Jbour’s Girls’ Group will meet tomorrow instead of today during 2B.
